Southern Comfort’s New ‘Drinking Pants’ Have a Pocket Made to Hold a Shot Glass and Cost Less Than $12

Whiskey liqueur brand Southern Comfort, or SoCo as it’s often called, on Monday announced a new release — and it doesn’t come in a bottle or even a can. The latest drop from SoCo is… Pants.

To be specific, these are Drinking Pants. This limited-edition, unisex clothing item is made specifically for drinking, with the Thanksgiving holiday in mind.

“The pandemic changed nearly everything about daily life, including making comfy-casual attire not only acceptable – but tasteful,” Sazerac Vice President of Global Marketing Sara Saunders said in a news release. “Southern Comfort wants to lead the way on tasteful choices so we conducted a host of detailed market research and that led us to an important conclusion: pants today are missing a few crucial elements that would improve lives everywhere, a key one being a shot glass pocket.”

Indeed, these pants have a pocket specifically sized to hold a shot glass — and each order of the pants comes with a SoCo shot glass to place in the pocket. Furthermore, SoCo has a solution for when you want to wear the pants but look presentable. The Drinking Pants are reversible. When reversed, you leave party mode and enter “fancy pants” status.

The all-black “fancy pants” option is intended to be worn to a formal family Thanksgiving dinner. Don’t worry — the fancy side has a shot-glass pocket, as well. And of course, the pants have a fully adjustable waistband, because who wants to feel the judging squeeze of a pair of tight pants on Thanksgiving?

The SoCo Drinking Pants will go on sale here at 8 a.m. EST Nov. 14 and will remain available through Nov. 21 or as long as supplies last. In an ode to the date of Thanksgiving, each pair of pants is priced at $11.23 — quite a steal for a pair of reversible pants plus a shot glass.

Given the fun schtick and low price, we’re not sure how long supplies will last for these pants, so if you’re interested in picking up a pair, you should probably be ready next Monday morning.
