Rossendale Hospice has released its first small-batch bespoke gin, Courage. Announced on Sept. 22, the gin is the first in the U.K.-based charity’s “Moments Count Gin” brand.

Courage is produced for Rossendale Hospice by Halcombe Gin LTD’s Long Dog Gin Distillery. The gin is made with a “bouquet garni of healing herbs” that “align with the needs of courageous palliative care patients to honour their Courage,” according to Rossendale Hospice.

Courage Gin Botanicals, Via the Brand:

  • anti-inflammatory Lovage
  • anti-oxidant Nettle
  • vitalizing Rosehip
  • calming Mugwort
  • tonic for the blood, Angelica
  • traditional hangover cure, Feverfew
  • plus Vervain famed for reducing  pain, insomnia & anxiety

It is recommended to pair Courage with your favorite premium tonic, garnished with an orange slice or sprig of thyme.

Rossendale Hospice cares for patients and their families with cancer and other life-limiting conditions. Services such as at-home hospice care, bereavement counselling, therapy, and befriending are available free of charge.

Rossendale Hospice is supported heavily through donations and fundraising events. One of these fundraising events is an annual “Gin N Trek” in which individuals visit local pubs over a four mile walk and sample a variety of gins. The “Gin N Trek” raises money through ticket sales, sponsors and raffles. Last month, the even raised over £17,000 ($ 19,073) for Rossendale Hospice.

Bottled at 40% ABV, Courage is available exclusively at Rossendale Hospice. All proceeds from each bottle go directly into funding Rossendale Hospice’s palliative care.
