Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton unveiled a new decanter, designed by leading architect Daniel Libeskind. The Baccarat crystal decanter houses Richard Hennessy, Hennessy’s rarest brand of Cognac.

“There is a complexity, process and structure to Cognac, just as there is in architecture,” Libeskind said, according to The Spirits Business. “I am inspired by the interplay of history and the future – a particular magic happens when the two come together. And I relish bringing a myriad of ideas from different areas to the design process, because I believe it elevates and brings new meaning to design.”

The blend, made from some of the scarcest eaux-de-vie in Hennessy’s reserves, has been carefully and preserved in The Founder’s Cellar on the family estate and is said to be “a tribute to its founder and history.”

Richard Hennessy Cognac has been crafted in an extremely limited quantity: 12 “tierçons,” historic barrels handcrafted in French oak by generations of cooper masters at Hennessy’s “tonnellerie,” or barrel-making workshop.

Richard Hennessy will be available from Harrods and Hedonism in London from mid-March, retailing at £5,000 ($6,770) per bottle.

Libeskind also designed accessories for the Cognac, including glasses, a fusil and a tray.

The architect is known for rebuilding the World Trade Center in New York City, among many other high-profile projects.

Earlier this month, Hennessy unveiled a digital experience, called the “Digital House of Moves,” in celebration of the 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend.
