Police Investigate Jose Cuervo-Infused Chocolates Allegedly Given to Underage Trick-or-Treaters

Police in West Boylston, Massachusetts are investigating reports that several children were given Jose Cuervo Especial-infused chocolates on Halloween.

Police Chief Dennis Minnich says that two parents reached out with photos of the boozy treats, handed out to ten-year-olds sometime between 5 and 8 p.m. on Horseshoe Drive.

Authorities believe that the chocolates — which have an alcohol content of 1.9% ABV — were likely given out by accident.

“I’ve never had something bad happen on Halloween,” Minnich told Telegram News. “Sometimes people are just plain stupid and they go, ‘Oh my God, I forgot it’s Halloween,’ and they grab something that they have in the house and start handing stuff out.”

“There would be more and we’d probably be able to narrow it down to a specific household if that was the case.”

Locals say that Horseshoe Drive was the scene of several adult parties throughout the night, explaining the possible mix-up.
