The New York Post reported on Wednesday about a swanky New York wine club called the New York Vintners where celebrities like LeBron James, Danny Devito and Carlos Santana have been spotted imbibing fine wine. For the price of $20,000 and a “vibe check” normies can join too — it’s just celebs who get in for free.

“You don’t apply. We invite you,” Timothy Parks, a member of The New York Vintners told The Post.

Until now, The New York Vintners was a fairly underground operation, with no social media presence that started as an online wine shop in 2006.

The club currently hosts a membership of 70 “wine high-rollers,” who either paid the $20,000 admissions fee, passed the “vibe check,” or both.

“[What] we’re trying to create with the membership is a place where people can enjoy wine, relax, be themselves… [and] not have to take part in all the pretentiousness that comes along with what we think about wine,” New York Vintners Partner and COO Harris Greenstein informed The Post.

The outlet reports that NBA players have frequented the club and spent evenings blind-tasting Burgundy until 3 a.m. before a big game the next day.

James, who has already developed quite the reputation for being quite the wine enthusiast, is known to pop into New York Vintners from time to time.

“We were drinking Burgundy [one] night, and he was into it,” Parks expressed. “And he was pretty knowledgable.”

New York Vintners sits in a 20,000-square-foot space that features tasteful works of modern art from the likes of Leopoldo Gout. Celebs appear to like the photo and paparazzi-free atmosphere, so they can be left to enjoy expensive bottles of Burgundy and Bordeaux in peace.

The space has been known to throw wine-fueled ragers hosted by bands like the Chainsmokers, the outlet reports.

Though admission is pricey — funds aren’t the only factor to join this exclusive club.

“I’ve seen tons of rich people, billionaires come through and say, ‘Oh, I’ll join, how much is it, $20K, $50K, $100K a million? I don’t care, I’ll join.’ And that’s like the quickest way to not get invited,” Parks expressed to the outlet.

Greenstein informed The Post that some aspiring club members have even been ghosted by the glamorous wine club.

“I can think of a few [occasions] where people expressed heavy interest and we just didn’t follow up. It’s our job to make sure we’re not letting in somebody who’s going to ruin that fabric.”

Perks of the club include classes with sommeliers, lectures with winemakers, a key with access to 24/7 wine storage and first glimpses at rare releases.

“All we care about is drinking great wine, paying respect to the wine, discussing it, but also, like, having a good time and not being snobs.”
