Ho, Ho, Ho: Singer Michael Bublé Surprises NY SantaCon Attendees With New Fraser & Thompson Whiskey

On Saturday, Michael Bublé surprised SantaCon attendees in New York and promoted his new whiskey brand, Fraser and Thompson. The Grammy-winning singer popped up in various New York Bars such as Legends and The Keg Room and served his North American whiskey to rooms packed to the brim with Santas.

SantaCon is a festive pub crawl that typically takes place on the second Saturday in December each year in New York, according to TimeOut. Tickets typically cost $15, and the proceeds are donated to charity. From this year’s crawl, funds were donated to charities such as City Harvest, Friends of Materials For The Arts and Headcount, according to SantaCon.

In the giving spirit of the holiday season, Fraser and Thompson and the spirits incubator WES Brands made a charitable donation to SantaCon and allocated its funds to City Harvest, an organization geared toward fighting off hunger in New York. WES Brands is the parent company behind Fraser and Thompson and other brands like Mark Wahlberg’s Flecha Azul Tequila and Brown Sugar Bourbon flavored whiskey.

Bublé debuted Fraser and Thompson in October.

The brand touts itself as the spirits industry’s first “North American Whiskey” and is a blend of Canadian whisky and Kentucky bourbon. Fraser and Thompson is blended and bottled at Heaven Hill in Bardstown, Kentucky. Heaven Hill is the mega whiskey brand behind Evan Williams, Larceny, Old Fitzgerald and Parker’s Heritage Collection.

When Fraser and Thompson launched, Bublé shared his reasons for choosing the brand’s name:

“I spent many summers with my grandfather at the confluence of the Fraser and Thompson rivers in British Columbia,” Bublé said in a news release. “When I heard Paul’s vision for creating a new kind of whiskey, I knew instantly what I wanted to call it. For the last three years, we worked together to perfect a whiskey blend that is equally elegant and approachable. We can’t wait to pour you a glass!”
