Air traffic controllers in Spain reported that a drunken brawl involving 30 men broke out on board a flight from Bristol to the Costa Blanca on Saturday. The pilot and crew requested police presence at Alicante after facing “the uncontrolled situation” on the Ryanair flight.
Controladores Aéreos (Air Controllers) posted on Twitter detailing the situation.

“Flight from the UK arriving in Alicante requests police presence upon arrival due to problems with around thirty drunk passengers,” read the post.
The Twitter post continued, “It seems that there has been a fight on board. Priority, cut maneuvers where possible and coordinate the presence of the police. We reiterate our support for the crews and passengers who have to suffer these situations.”
The pilot and crew reportedly required police assistance upon arrival at the airport. According to the Mirror, the Ryanair crew was “in the face of the uncontrolled situation that took place on board” as passengers were fighting in the aisle.
When the plane arrived at Alicante, police questioned the passengers. Authorities reportedly only arrested two people. It is unclear if any charges were filed.
Although the details were limited, this appears to be another situation of out-of-control Ryanair passengers on their way to Spain. Back in April, a group on their way to a bachelor party in Tenerife caused a “riot” on board the plane. In this instance, the men were said to have been downing vodka and vaping during the flight.
Rumors spread of Ryanair potentially banning alcohol purchases by passengers in duty-free shops for flights going to and from Spain. However, it was clarified that its policy related to drinking duty-free alcohol on board the plane, which is a common policy among all airlines.
