A Wildly Popular New York Pizzeria Is Bucking Tradition By Offering Reservations For the First Time — Thanks to Jefferson’s Bourbon

In early November, Jefferson’s Bourbon announced that it would offer New Yorkers a chance to win reservations to dine at what the brand refers to as the world-famous pizzeria Lucali.
Lucali has never taken reservations, delivered or served slices, so offering its first reservations is quite the bucking of tradition.
The reservations will be offered on three consecutive “Whiskey Wednesdays” between Nov. 15 and Nov. 29.
As part of the “Jefferson’s X Lucali: Slice of New York Sweepstakes,” two grand prize winners each week will get reservations for four to Mark Iacono’s Lucali for up to $250.
“Jefferson’s is constantly looking to partner with entrepreneurs, businesses and people at the top of their fields to give our drinkers the best bourbon and best experiences,” Jefferson’s Bourbon founder Trey Zoeller said in a news release. “And because we’re so thankful for our Jefferson’s fans, we channeled our entrepreneurial spirit – always looking for new opportunities and innovative ways to make moments together better – and teamed up with Lucali to ensure lucky New Yorkers will get a top-notch experience with the best pizza money can buy.”
Five runners-up will get a pizza for pick up and every winner will receive Jefferson’s x Lucali swag coupled with a Visa gift card meant for purchasing a bottle of Jefferson’s bourbon.
Iacono is a self-taught pizzaiolo who fell into the art of making pizza in an attempt to recapture the pizza he enjoyed in his childhood.
“I’m an accidental pizzaiolo – so for me, it’s always been about creating the best product for the best people,” Iacono said. “This partnership, and this contest, it just clicked for me. From what I understand, Trey kind of fell into his craft the same way I did and feels the same way I do: to give back to our friends and customers this holiday season, it was a no-brainer.”
Since its inception, Lucali’s pizzas have risen to meteoric heights, and the New York pizzeria rapidly became known as one of the best in the U.S.
Iacono has since branched out and launched a Lucali location in Florida, which received accolades from critics in Today.
