On Monday, 14 News reported that 21 pallets amounting to $70,000 worth of stolen bourbon were stolen from Glenmore Distillery in Owensboro, Kentucky.
Local police say the report was made on Friday from the distillery. According to law enforcement, the theft occurred at some point between Tuesday and Friday, but little has been revealed due to the fact the investigation is ongoing.
A suspect has been tied to the case, but no further information has been given besides the fact that the police reported him as a “white male,” according to the news outlet.
14 News reached out to Sazerac, which owns Glenmore Distillery, but Sazerac has yet to comment. Sazerac also owns Goliath whiskey producer Buffalo Trace.
One of the police officers involved in the investigation, Officer Dylan Evans, said General Wholesale Beer Company was also a victim of the incident.
“Both parties are working together,” Evans said, according to the news outlet. “I’m not for certain whether the product has been returned, but they are working to return that property.”
Evans claims this is still an active investigation that is developing, and that detectives are in the process of finding the culprit.
