Police arrested a Florida woman on Wednesday after she attacked a man during an argument about missing rum. The incident occurred in Ocala, Florida.

The alleged victim was reportedly in the garage when Lorrie Wilds started an argument about missing rum. Although the man claimed he doesn’t drink rum, Wilds then reportedly got destructive and began to knock things over. The brand and value of the supposedly absent rum was not stated.

According to the affidavit, the Florida woman turned violent towards the man, grabbed him around the neck, and repeatedly punched him. The man managed to get away, but then Wilds attacked him with a hammer.

The man didn’t realize what he had been hit with at first but then noticed it was the blunt side of a hammer. Deputies saw evidence of the attack in the form of a small scrape with fresh blood on the man’s head. The officers found the hammer at the scene. It was a standard-size hammer with a black and blue handle.

Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies found Wilds and noticed a strong odor of alcohol on her breath. She claimed the argument was only verbal but eventually admitted to throwing a bottle of alcohol at the man as well as throwing his laptop on the floor. Presumably, the bottle of alcohol used as a weapon was not the rum in question.

Marion County Sheriff’s Office charged the 58-year-old with felony aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Wilds is being held at the Marion County Jail with a $500 bond.
