Family Home For Spring Break? Phifer Pavitt Reserve is Worth the Splurge

Big family trip planned this spring break? You may need a drink a bit stronger than a glass of wine. This whiskey is the one.

Bardstown Bourbon Company Phifer Pavitt Reserve is a perfect choice if you love the jammier and more tannin forward whiskeys. Let’s face it, if we’ve learned anything from the pandemic when you’re home alone with your kids all day, sometimes a glass of wine is not enough.

This is a highly rated, nine-year-old Tennessee bourbon and goes great, and any cocktail where you might find whiskey. It’s also been aged in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels in Napa Valley, so if you’re a fan of the red wines, this whiskey is for you.

Not to mention, it’s incredible in cocktails if you’re not quite up to drinking bourbon straight. The old-fashioned is easy and my personal favorite. If the old-fashioned is still too strong, try the manhattan, a bit easier to drink, and no need to pick up a muddler at the liquor store.

While this bottling is rather expensive, it’s worth it if it means surviving the week at home. It’s so good, it might just be good enough to impress even your toughest critics (read: mother-in-law).
