‘Everything Just Descended Into Chaos’ Ed Sheeran Onboard Plane With Unruly Drunk Passenger Hurling ‘Racist Comments’, Say Witnesses

On Tuesday, Grammy award-winning artist Ed Sheeran unknowingly boarded a plane with a drunk passenger heading from Miami to Heathrow. The flight reportedly turned ugly resulting in the passenger having to be put under arrest upon landing in London for an alcohol-fueled outburst.
The “Shape of You” singer’s flight started off pretty standard including taking selfies with fans at the Miami airport departure gate. However, the flight became the stuff of nightmares when an intoxicated passenger began a tirade after being refused service during the British Airways flight.
About an hour into the flight, the passenger began insulting the cabin crew after being denied service. Presumably, the drunken passenger had been drinking alcoholic beverages prior to boarding the plane which gave the cabin crew pause to serve him further.
“F— you, you c—s,” He shouted. “Take all of your annoying c— faces out of my f—ing eye range.”
Dan Haughian, who managed to snap a selfie smiling next to Ed Sheeran, witnessed the drunken outbursts of the enraged passenger.
“Everything just descended into chaos,” Haughian told The Sun. “The things this guy was saying and doing were just obscene.
“When they refused to give him any booze, he started making monkey noises and gestures at cabin crew.
“The language coming out of his mouth was worse than you’d hear at a footie match. He was lucky nobody knocked him out, everyone was horrified. There were loads of kids watching.”
An off-duty police officer and other passengers were able to restrain the man. Even after being strapped into a jump seat, Haughian commented that the 10 minutes of chaos ruined the whole flight and put everyone on edge.
“The bloke must have been drunk when he boarded because the crew refused to serve him just an hour in, and they hadn’t been round with the trolley,” added Haughian. “At one point we were told we might be diverted and the pilot even came on trying to reassure everyone.
“A few people shouted ‘Good riddance’ when the guy was led away.
“I hope he gets what’s coming to him. Nobody should behave like that.”
Fortunately for the other passengers, the flight did not have to make an emergency landing. When the plane landed in London, the unruly passenger was met by six armed officers. The authorities boarded the plane and arrested the man.
Police stated, “At 1:59 a.m. on Oct. 24 officers at Heathrow received a report that a passenger on a flight arriving from Miami had made racist comments towards other passengers and crew members.
“Officers met the aircraft and a 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence. He remains in custody.”
British Airways condemned the behavior and said it “will never be tolerated on board our aircraft.”
The man is expected to face charges for his outburst. Recently, a Jet2 passenger was banned from all further flights after drunkenly attacking cabin crew and the British Airways passenger may face similar punishment. Ed Sheeran doesn’t appear to have commented incident and it most likely did not affect his flight experience.
