Corona announced on Wednesday that the Official Cerveza of Major League Baseball is offering fans help in case they wanted to take PTO on the MLB’s Opening Day with Corona’s Opening Day Off Sweepstakes. The brand enlisted the help of two heavy hitters: Philadelphia Phillies right fielder Nick Castellanos and San Diego Padres  shortstop Fernando Tatís Jr.

The two MLB stars shared why they believed it was important for baseball fans to take Opening Day off in the video below:

Baseball fans interested in partaking in the sweepstakes should follow @CoronaUSA on Instagram and tag their bosses in the comments section of the brand’s sweepstakes post. The post will enter them into the sweepstakes to win prizes, including a free yearlong subscription to MLB.TV, or a pair of tickets to a home opening game or gift cards with which to buy beer.

Corona specified in a news release that the “boss” you tag can be “any individual (21 or older) that you consider to be your boss (with whom you have a relationship and know personally).”

Fans can enter Friday through Wednesday.

“Opening Day deserves to be enjoyed in the finest way possible: with an ice-cold Corona in hand,” Corona Director of Brand Marketing Saul Trejo said in the news release. “As the Official Cerveza of Major League Baseball, Corona is proud to champion the fans who never lose, and reward those who live in the moment to take the day off.”

Reuters reported in October that Corona is performing well in terms of sales and demand for the Constellation-owned beer brand was strong. Constellation also owns the most popular beer in America, Modelo.

In June, Modelo took the mantle of the most-sold beer in America and dethroned the reigning favorite Bud Light. A lot of this stemmed from a boycott of the Anheuser-Busch-owned beer which began Spring 2023.

Corona is currently in its third year as the Official Cerveza of the MLB.
