Bottle Raiders Acquires Popular Whiskey/Tequila Event Business

Arte Agave

Bottle Raiders has acquired Arte Agave and Whiskey Washback.

The acquisition will bring the Whiskey Washback & Arte Agave Events Under the Bottle Raiders Umbrella

New York, NY, May 6, 2024 – Bottle Raiders, the world’s largest spirits review website founded by entrepreneur and media personality Dan Abrams, announced on Monday the acquisition of popular event brands Whiskey Washback and Arte Agave. The strategic acquisition will allow the newly consolidated Bottle Raiders brand to add in-person tasting experiences with top whiskey and tequila brands to its existing media property. Recently, Abrams combined his whiskeyraiders.com, tequilaraiders.com, ginraiders.com and rumraiders.com into one centralized location called Bottle Raiders.

Currently, Whiskey Washback and Arte Agave hold 11 experiential tasting events each year in New York City, Chicago, Austin, Miami, Houston, Dallas and Atlanta, with more than 400 attendees at each. Bottle Raiders plans to expand the number of events and locations and use its large content following to fuel growth. The company will also offer custom virtual/in-person events to companies and organizations that are interested in bringing similar experiences to its staff or customers.

The Whiskey Washback and Arte Agave team will remain in place with Walter and Emily Easterbrook continuing to lead the events business.

“Our goal has always been to use content to drive experiences and expand our revenue streams. Being able to connect our audience with top-notch tasting events around the country where they will have exclusive access to brands and industry personalities seemed like a perfect fit,” Abrams said. “I’m excited to partner with Walter and Emily Easterbrook in continuing to build out the amazing business they started.”

This comes on the heels of Abrams recently selling Law&Crime in a nine-figure deal to social media unicorn, Jellysmack.

BottleRaiders.com has become the one-stop shop for spirits reviews and coverage with the largest database of reviews on the internet. The site aggregates scores from credible sources and assigns one average score a la Rotten Tomatoes for spirits. Abrams has plans to launch a corresponding app later this year.

The next Arte Agave Event will be held on May 31 in Miami and Whiskey Washback on June 14 in Atlanta. Tickets can be found here for AA and here for WW.

“I am incredibly stoked for the creative possibilities this partnership with Dan Abrams and Bottle Raiders opens up,” Emily Easterbrook said. “This collaboration is a creative goldmine, promising to amplify our event designs and deliver even more spectacular experiences. With more resources and fresh inspiration, we’re set to dazzle our guests and offer incredible value to brands. I am amped to create some seriously unforgettable events that push the boundaries of fun and creativity!”

“I am thrilled to embark on this new chapter with Bottle Raiders,” Walter Easterbrook said. “This partnership not only represents a significant milestone for the company I have passionately built but also signals a transformative era for the hospitality industry. Teaming up with a visionary like Dan Abrams, we are set to deliver unparalleled value to the liquor brands we serve and redefine industry standards. Together, we will create meaningful experiences for consumers and our brand partners alike.”

ABOUT WHISKEY WASHBACK/ARTE AGAVE

ARTE AGAVE – In 2013, sparked by a burgeoning curiosity among bar patrons about agave spirits, Arte Agave was launched. It was clear that while interest in tequila and mezcal was growing, the existing events weren’t doing justice to the rich culture behind these spirits. Arte Agave was born from a desire to create a truly authentic experience, one that celebrates not only the exquisite flavors of agave spirits but also honors the artisans, entrepreneurs, and culinary pioneers who elevate this category. The event showcases the passion and tradition of the agave spirit makers and provides a vibrant, cultural immersion unlike any other.

WHISKEY WASHBACK – Founded in 2013 in response to the extremes of whiskey events—either the overly formal, exclusive gatherings or the unrestrained, ‘all-you-can-drink’ parties— emerged Whiskey Washback. The vision was to democratize the whiskey experience, creating a welcoming space for both aficionados and newcomers alike. This event strikes the perfect balance, offering valuable insights and exposure for brands while ensuring an engaging, fun atmosphere for guests. Inspired by the spirit of the whiskey rebellion, the Whiskey Washback challenges the status quo and invites everyone to explore the world of Whiskey and cocktails in an enriching, accessible way.
