Ultra Right Beer Dips Back Into Culture Wars With the Launch of a Conservative Tequila-Alternative

Ultra Right Beer, the partisan brew brand ever-eager to capitalize on culture war buzzwords of the day, is expanding its scope from lager to liquor with a new tequila release. Or, as they call it, “Border Wall Tee-Kee-Laa.”
On Wednesday, the brand announced a 100% agave, additive-free Blanco that will reportedly donate proceeds to conservative causes. Each bottle is etched with the tagline “Only bringing the best across the border!” alongside a highly questionable caricature of a Mexican climbing a ladder. Elsewhere, the product claims that it’s brought to market not only by Conservative Dad, but also by his foreign counterpart, Conservador Papa.
Lots to unpack here.
For those unfamiliar with Ultra Right’s schtick, the brand was introduced in 2023 as a retort to the then-trending Dylan Mulvaney Bud Light boycott. Ultra Right’s titular product, an American lager decked out in splashy shades of red, white and blue, was billed as the “100% Woke-Free” alternative to quote-on-quote leftist beers.
Many consumers know the brand best for its viral social media content. Founder and CEO Seth Weathers commemorated the launch of his venture with a clip in which he bludgeoned a can of Bud Light with a baseball bat. He later uploaded a parody video in which he suggested that Anheuser-Busch was “transing” its Clydesdale horses. AI-generated images were used to support his point.
As the Bud Light boycott waned in popularity, Ultra Right pivoted its approach toward becoming a catch-all pro-Trump brand.

The shift was kicked off last year with the debut of a Conservative Dad’s Revenge beer stamped with former President Trump’s mugshot. The limited-edition drop reportedly grossed over $500,000. The release was followed up in July with Conservative Dad’s Fight, which featured an image of Trump raising his fist in the air following an attempted assassination attempt in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.
Even within the brand’s die-hard fanbase, some have been left dissatisfied. Ultra Right faced an F-rating from the Better Business Bureau earlier this year following widespread reports of unfulfilled orders. The company has nonetheless kept up steam with a steady stream of news coverage and a merch shop that sells swimsuits, towels, hats and a “Real Women of America” calendar.
Border Wall Tee-Kee-Laa is its first foray into spirits.
Though the product is reportedly made in Mexico, it should be noted that the word “tequila” is not mentioned anywhere in the product description. More often than not, this means that the liquor does not fall within the stringent guidelines for what can and cannot be termed tequila by regulatory officials. Either that or Seth Weathers just thought “Tee-Kee-Laa” was a hugely funny word to market his brand.
After all, nothing is more American than a quintessentially Mexican spirit.
