‘Sliced, Not Squeezed’: LeBron James Channels James Bond In ‘Agent 1707’ Tequila Campaign Alongside Victoria Justice

A collaboration between four-time NBA champion LeBron James and Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice was just about the last topic we had on our 2024 bingo card — yet, inexplicably, here we are.

In a new campaign for Lobos 1707 Tequila & Mezcal, the unlikely duo faces off across the poker table in an on-the-nose parody of James Bond. The jokes practically write themselves; soaked in melodrama, the athlete icily introduces himself as “James … LeBron James.” The lime in his cocktail? “Sliced, not squeezed.”

Though the exact details of the plot are left a little vague, we can confirm that Justice wins the game with a nod and a smirk. In a post-credits vignette, James glances at a picture of power forward Draymond Green — also an investor in Lobos 1707 — and tears up laughing.

Diego Osorio, founder and Chief Creative Officer of Lobos 1707, cameos in the video as a dapper bartender. He remarked in a news release:

“We wanted the video to reflect the sophistication and premium quality of our brand, but without taking ourselves too seriously. Working with LeBron James and Victoria Justice was incredible, and I loved how they truly embodied their characters.”

The Man of Mystery ad spot is the latest in a series of high-profile swings from the up-and-coming agave spirits brand. Founded in 2020 by Osorio, Lobos 1707 is arguably best known in the public eye for its ludicrous quantity of celebrity investors. In addition to James and Green, A-listers include Issa Rae, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Paris Hilton and Rich Paul in addition to Lakers teammates Anthony David, Fred VanVleet and Zach LaVine.

In the finer details, Lobos is a family act. Paying homage to a 16th-century ancestor who shipped Mexican agave spirits across the Atlantic in Spanish barrels, Osorio finishes all the brand’s aged expressions in Pedro Ximénez (PX) Sherry wine casks.

If you’re interested in sipping the video’s featured cocktail, find the recipe below. The simple concoction mixes Lobos Reposado and elote liqueur (presumably Nixta) for a sweetened mix of corn and agave flavor.
