Tequila Ocho Reunites With Brooklyn’s Widow Jane Distillery for 12-Month Añejo

Tequila Ocho is doubling down on its partnership with Brooklyn’s Widow Jane Distillery in the form of a 12-month bourbon-finished añejo.
Bottled at 48% ABV — the latest in a high-proof trend from the brand — the new limited-edition expression is said to balance heady aromas with flavors of rich caramel and baking spice. The two distillers previously collaborated from across the border in 2022, releasing a reposado aged for eight weeks and eight days.
“Given the immensely positive feedback we received about Tequila Ocho Reposado Barrel Select Widow Jane, it made sense to apply what we learned and channel that same spirit of innovation to an añejo,” said Global Brand Ambassador Jesse Estes.
“With that said, I could not have imagined how well the Añejo Barrel Select Widow Jane has turned out. The higher ABV carries even more flavor and makes for a superbly rich and delightful sipper.”
Headed up by the renowned Carlos Camarena, Tequila Ocho is well regarded within the community for its additive-free recipe distilled using overripe agaves. The brand is also among a small handful of single-estate producers; all Blue Weber agave is grown on its own fields, rather than bought second-hand.
This particular release is distilled from vintage agaves harvested at Rancho El Nacimento, one of several fields on the estate. Tequila Ocho Añejo Barrel Select Widow Jane 2024 will hit retail shelves in February at $90.
