An X user by the name of Rich Mac posted a video on November 5 in which he claims an employee at United Airlines opened a bottle of tequila that was packed inside his checked luggage — and took a shot from it.
So an employee at @united went in my luggage, crack open my bottle, took a shot & put it back. ??? I should’ve known something was up when my shit was unzipped smh ??♂️ pic.twitter.com/O4CqPiR9kr

In the video, Rich Mac holds his bottle of tequila while saying: “United is on some other s***. Cracked this motherf***** open.”
“Out of my bag,” he continues in a disappointed tone. “I should have known something was up when my bag was unzipped. Count your f****** days, United. Count them.”
Based on Rich Mac’s footage, the tequila in question appears to be Teremana Reposado, a brand of agave spirit founded by global star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. A 750-ml bottle of this celebrity-backed booze costs about $40.
Responding to Rich Mac in the comments section under the video, United Airlines wrote: “Hi there. We’re sorry to see this has been your experience. We advise you to contact our Baggage team directly.”
In March, a strangely similar incident occurred involving another disgruntled United Airlines passenger. Turning to X to express his concern, the man claimed that the Scotch whisky bottle he had packed in his checked bag arrived one-third empty, even though there were no signs of leakage. He emphasized that the bottle was brand new and sealed when he packed it.
