Mijenta Tequila is finally bringing back its cult-hit añejo aged in a combination of American white oak, French oak, acacia and sherry casks.

Mijenta Gran Reserva initially launched in May 2022; after selling out within a week, resellers and liquor stores began hawking bottles in the range of $400. Now, over a year later, the price is being adjusted back down to $200 with a second, but hopefully not final, release.

“We’re thrilled that the first batch of our Añejo was a favorite among such an ardent community of tequila lovers. We believe our Añejo is unlike anything else on the market and reflects the incredible care and intention that we put into every aspect of the brand,” said Co-Founder Mike Dolan.

“With an unwavering commitment to producing exceptional, additive-free tequila and a core ethos that includes environmental responsibility and giving back to local communities, we are honored by the passionate reception Mijenta has received since we launched in 2020.”

Mijenta is headed up by Maestra Tequilera Ana Mario Romero Mena, who also worked with LVHM for the launch of Volcán de mi Tierra. The brand’s additive-free, sustainably farmed lineup has established it as a hit with critics and consumers, frequently taking the spotlight at acclaimed hideaways like Mexico’s Licorería Limantour.

Said to contain complex notes of dried stone fruit, cooked agave, mace, anise and saffron, Mijenta Añejo can now be picked up online for $199.99.
