Matthew McConaughey and Wife Camila Ride Bottomless Through Mexico to Promote Latest Venture, Pantalones Tequila

With so many celebrity-owned tequila brands hitting the market, sometimes you have to go above and beyond to stand out.

From the looks of it, Camila and Matthew McConaughey decided to do the exact opposite, going below and beyond to promote their latest venture — Pantalones Organic Tequila — as they rode bottomless through the blue weber agave fields of Mexico.

The tongue-in-cheek campaign parodies George Clooney and Rande Gerber’s famous Casamigos ad, which arguably jumpstarted the celebrity tequila trend when it launched back in 2013. In years since, the market has been flooded with similar ventures from the likes of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kendall Jenner, Kevin Hart and Nick Jonas among countless others.

The team over at Pantalones Tequila — which translates literally to “Pants” — seems well aware of the fatigue.

“The world doesn’t need another celebrity tequila, but tequila sure could use a kick in the pants. Pantalones Organic Tequila is the best thing we’ve made with our pants on,” said Matthew and Camila McConaughey in a press release.

Grown and produced at a 4th generation family-owned distillery in Amatitán, Jalisco, Pantalones is hitting liquor store shelves with an unaged Blanco, 9-month Reposado and 15-month Añejo. Bottles of the USDA Organic brand will retail for $44.99, $49.99 and $54.99 respectively.

McConaughey previously ventured into the spirits industry with the launch of Longbranch Bourbon in 2018. After spending seven years as the creative director for Wild Turkey Distillery, he and the company amicably parted ways at the end of 2022.

Little less than a year later, it looks like things have turned out alright, alright, alright.
