Husband and wife Matthew and Camila McConaughey are kicking off the holiday season with a boozy homage to Texas, the “True Detective” actor’s birthplace and occasionally rumored home base for his gubernatorial run. Queue the obligatory “Alright, alright, alright.”

On Wednesday, the couple’s tequila brand unveiled Pantalones Organic Extra AƱejo, aged 36 months before finishing for an undisclosed period in Texas bourbon barrels. In keeping with the theme, the limited-edition bottling features an oversized, metal belt buckle-inspired label complete with miniature renditions of the state’s Lone Star.

The expression is bottled at 40% ABV and is said to boast flavors of agave, toasted oak, dark chocolate and “just the right touch of Texas warmth.” McConaughey likens the tequila, now available through retailers at a suggested price of $99.99, to “your favorite couch with just a little extra cushion in it.”

ā€œThis Extra AƱejo takes everything people love about Pantalones – the smoothness, the craftsmanship, the fun – and turns it up a notch,” Co-founder and Chairman Andrew T. Chrisomalis added in a news release. “It’s the perfect sip for the holidays, at an affordable price, whether you’re raising a glass or wrapping a bottle.ā€

Matthew and Camila McConaughey debuted Pantalones in late 2023. Beyond its tequila, the brand is perhaps most famous for its risque ad campaigns, which feature the couple riding motorcycles, playing pickleball, mowing the lawn and recreating famous rom-com posters — all without pants or underwear on. (In case you’re wondering, Pantalones translates to “pants” in Spanish.)

The brand is produced at the Tequilera Tap distillery in Amatitan, Jalisco, famous among the agave spirits crowd for cult-hit brands like Cazcanes, Inspiro and Tres Agaves.
