Cazcabel Adds Tennessee Whiskey-Finished Añejo to Lineup of Flavored Tequilas

Cazcabel Tequila is expanding its agave spirits range with a new 14-month añejo finished in ex-Tennesse whiskey barrels.
Said to balance “rich flavors” of cinnamon, vanilla and dry cocoa, the latest release from the Vazquez family estate is set to hit liquor shelves this month at $55.
Founded in 1997 — decades before the tequila craze as we know it today — Cazcabel has come to market with a Blanco and Reposado in addition to its flagship Coconut, Honey and Coffee liqueurs. All are distilled at the Tequila Artesanal de Los Altos de Jalisco distillery in the mountains of Atotonilco.
“Appreciation of Tequila is evolving across the world and increasingly people appreciate the experience of sipping Tequila to savor the flavor,” said Nate Sorby, Cazcabel’s global brand ambassador.
“Añejo, our new aged Tequila with distinct notes of cacao and cooked agave, is best enjoyed neat or over ice. It is a fantastic addition to the Cazcabel range and the perfect introduction for those wanting to try aged Tequila.”
Unlike the majority of its US-focused competition, Cazcabel has set its sights firmly on international expansion. The brand is currently available in over 40 markets including New Zealand, Russia, Sweden, Malaysia and The Netherlands — countries where the agave spirits boom has yet to ignite.
Breaking into these markets with its flavored expressions, Cazcabel is building footholds where few tequila companies have ventured before. The brand reportedly sold over 200,000 nine-liter cases outside of the Americas in 2022, targeting 1 million worldwide by the end of 2025.
