Caleb Pressley, best known across the Internet for his cheeky Sundae Conversations interviews with Drake, Ed Sheeran and more, is throwing his hat into the lucrative spirits market.
On Thursday, Pressley teamed up with Piermont Brands to unveil Chica~Chida, a peanut butter agave spirit plastered with the slogan “Respect La Mera Mera!” (Respect the Boss! in English). There’s a lot to say about what’s inside the bottle, so let’s dive into the details:
The spirit is made in the eponymous town of Tequila, Jalisco, though Chica~Chida is technically not classified as a tequila. Rather, it’s distilled from smoky Agave Espadin, best known for its use in mezcal.
From there, Chica~Chida is blended with allergen-free peanut butter extract and bottled at 64-proof, introducing a flavor profile and alcohol content closest in inspiration to a liqueur.

“Chica~Chida is peanut butter, butt better. I say Butt because Chica~Chida makes my tonsils twerk and my brain bounce that ass,” declares Pressley in a press release.
“This enchanting potion combines the energy of Tequila, Mexico with the flavor of Everywhere, America. I know that because I’m on it right now. My dream is to one day have kids who grow to be 21 years old so they can sip Chica~Chida themselves. Or 18 if we live in Europe which I don’t foresee.”
Though Chica~Chida is not officially made in collaboration with Barstool Sports, Dave Portnoy’s media empire has launched its fair share of successful alcohol brands. In 2019, the company inroduced Pink Whitney, a pink lemonade-flavored vodka backed by ex-NHL players Ryan Whitney and Paul Bissonette of the Spittin’ Chiclets podcast. A few years later, Barstool joined forces with the makers of Four Loko to debut Pirate Water, a line of 10% ABV ready-to-drink malt beverages. Both drinks are a common sight on college campuses across the country.
For the time being, Chica~Chida is available only in New Jersey, with plans to expand to Florida and South Carolina next month followed by a phased expansion plan. Find the brand’s website here.
