  • Nose:

Light and sweet with a chemical edge, reminds me of lemon hard candies and Skittles. It's definitely not cloyingly sweet, more like opening a bag of stale treats at the convenience store. Surprisingly nostalgic in an odd way.

  • Taste:

Lemon rind, lime and a hint of herbs including oregano, coriander and cardamom. Perfectly pleasant.

  • Finish:

Short finish with tinges of black pepper and juniper. There's a bit of that artificial feeling you get at the back of your throat after drinking a Diet Coke.

  • Overall:

Understandably, the gin & tonic is a difficult cocktail to pull off in nonalcoholic form. After all, without gin, what are you left with except for a swig of Canada Dry. ISH has certainly tried to pull off that compromise. I taste some of the botanical influences in here, but nothing strong enough to distinguish this from a standard San Pellegrino. That's not a bad thing by any stretch, but its perhaps not the best evidence of what N/A cocktails can achieve.
