  • Old Elk has a winner here in its Cigar Cut Island Blend expression. Mastery of blending shows itself in the best of ways, especially given the mix of whiskey styles and barrel types in this offering. This will be great with cigars or just a summer sipper on a warm night. It’s a true gem to add to your home bar.

  • A great winter whiskey with gobs of flavor, but still playful enough for summer.

  • In the end, I guess the “island” does come out of its shell, though it takes a bit of time getting there. It’s worth the journey.

  • I wasn’t necessarily certain that the phrase “Island Blend” conjured up the Cigar Cut vibe exactly, but it seems apropos after tasting this one. It feels like a nice celebratory dram, with no shortage of character. A winner for Old Elk.
