  • Nice length on a finish with apple and red berry sweetness, with a lovely hit of spice; very solid and full-bodied.

  • A port finished bourbon isn't anything new, but in combination with Old Elk's fairly uncommon 34% malted barley in the mash bill, the combination certainly elevates this limited release straight bourbon. At $99.99, the price seems on-point for the quality and unique flavor of this bourbon.

  • Overall, Old Elk Port Cask Finish Bourbon is yet another showcase of Maddox’s skill at blending and finishing. Combined with Master Distiller Greg Metze’s years of distilling prowess, the Old Elk Cask Finish Series is really coming into its own.
