Glenfiddich's "Perpetual Collection" is a range of travel retail-exclusive whiskies utilizing the Solera Vat process, which entails the whisky remaining in continuous motion within vats that have never been emptied. Per the brand, this technique allows each vat fill to build on the past, increasing the complexity of the whisky. Glenfiddich bottles half the whisky in the vats before refilling, maintaining a connection to the original liquid. The Perpetual Collection features four expressions, including VAT 01, which is bottled at 40% ABV and matured in bourbon and red wine casks.
