House Review
Nose:
Young and sweet, big vanilla. Super fruity, really loaded with Dole fruit syrupy sugar notes and a big, wet peat presence. Earthy and mossy.
Taste:
Medium mouth feel, musty and sweet. The peat is super earthy and mineral forward and it almost tastes wine finished - there is a ton of fruit character here. The sweetness and the peat are both really in your face, and they don't blend very well.
Finish:
Long and earthy with a lot of pepper, salty smoke and dominant earthy peat. I said earthy twice because the peat here is super raw. Then the vanilla makes a final stand.
Overall:
This wasn't bad, but it was definitely young and significantly out of balance. It could use some more time in the cask.
Score:
80
