Baker's 13 Years Old Bourbon, distilled by James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky, returns for a 2024 release. This limited-edition offering, bottled at 107 proof, is named after Baker Beam, Jim Beam’s grandnephew. With a suggested retail price of $149.99, each 750mL bottle displays its specific barrel number on the neck.
Baker’s comes out swinging this 2024! Goodness, it’s rich, powerful, oaky but not too much, and I love how this expression just keeps changing over the years.
I’m happy to report that all the things we’ve come to expect and love about Baker’s remain in effect here, the whiskey still shining beautifully — though it’s not without some tonal shifts.
Baker’s Bourbon 13 Year is back for 2024 with a flavor profile that will satisfy anyone seeking out a robust Kentucky bourbon that enters slightly higher proof and age territory.
Compared to my 2023 bottle, this year’s Baker’s 13 is much heavier on hallmark Beam bourbon notes: roasted nuts, heavy vanilla, and hefty oak, with less pronounced components of fruit and spice.
The signature Beam nutty grain flavor is present, but it’s softened with layers of milk and dark chocolate, espresso bean, dulce de leche, fig, and a backbone of smoky oak.
