Glenmorangie The Nectar 16 Years Old is a single malt Scotch whisky with an ABV of 46%. The whisky starts with 14 years in bourbon casks, followed by two years of finishing in Sauternes, Monbazillac, Moscatel and Tokaji casks from France, Spain and Hungary.
Truly, dessert in a glass. Nectar D’Or never quite seemed to live up to its elevated position in the Glenmorangie Extra Matured lineup. But this new single malt is exactly where it should be.
The palate is drenched in baked fruit flavors, with apricot, orange Jell-O, and orange honey, plus pepper. The mouthfeel is succulent and unctuous, revealing baked pastries, flaked almond, brioche, cinnamon toast, bananas Foster, and creamy toffee to finish.
