OCD #5 Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey is made entirely on-site at Krankfort-based Glenns Creek Distillery using custom pot stills. Crafted with yeast revived from an old fermentation tank, the recipe is inspired by the original Old Crow Bourbon and consists of a mashbill of 87% corn, 8% rye and 5% barley.
The flavors did feel a little underdeveloped, but I thought they balanced nicely, particularly the sweet and smoky notes that begin on the nose and transition to the palate.
The bourbon itself tastes more like it originates from Texas than Kentucky, with a thick, oily mouthfeel and rich, bold flavor profile. For anyone seeking something both authentic and different, this fits the bill.
