  • On the palate, look for touches of toffee, espresso, brown sugar, clove and a meandering, grain-y sweet finish that some might compare to oatmeal cookies. Velvety feel.

  • This whiskey really doesn’t provide much in terms of complexity and depth of flavor, and despite the 6 year age statement, felt somewhat young and underdeveloped.

  • Bib & Tucker 6 Year Old Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey is clearly a simple and well put whiskey in a well-looking bottle. It can be a very joyful bourbon for those who are looking for a sweet and smooth profile.

  • The finish finds the whiskey at its sweetest, offering notes of butterscotch and peanut brittle, a slight booziness that’s evident early on having finally blown away.

  • An underlying note of sweet ginger is very welcoming and leads to medium finish of scorched cinnamon and dried vanilla.

  • No one flavor overpowers another as an assortment of sweet and spice project over a chewy mouthfeel. The medium finish shows decent caramel. This is nice, but doesn’t wow the palate.

  • It’s not weird. Or unusual. But I like it, it’s like a dessert that might not be your thing but you have it and you’re glad you at least had something sweet.

  • This release, though, is unique to anything else I’ve had from a Tennessee distillery because if you let it sit for a while it starts to change and get sweeter and spicier.

  • Bib and Tucker’s 6-year bourbon is sweet and simple, which is far from a flaw.

  • Nose:

Heavy on the baking spice with tons of toffee, clove, black pepper and a hint of tobacco.

  • Taste:

Pleasant on the palate. Thin mouthfeel that's not surprising given the ABV. Pleasant caramel, light apple and cinnamon character, some toffee and a light dash of clove.

  • Finish:

Moderate finish — sweet and easy drinking here. It’s simple, full of caramel and honey, light pepper and some sweet oak.

  • Overall:

Bib and Tucker’s 6-year bourbon is sweet and simple, which is far from a flaw. At 50% ABV, I bet this would move up a rank with ease, but if you’re looking for something inoffensive, easily skippable and good for everyone at the table, this is just fine.
