  • This reminds me of some of my favorite Whistle Pig ryes sourced from Alberta. That herbal character, orange, cake batter and brown sugar carries my love of all things well aged CS Alberta Rye and this evokes those delicious memories. Delightful, and Four Gate continues to demonstrate performance that puts them in the top echelon of blender/producers.

  • Nose:

Powerful brown sugar, toffee, cake batter and pepper. Pungent rye spice enters stage left, bringing clove, a light herbal character and tons of nougat and cracked pepper.

  • Taste:

Medium mouth feel, gentle for the proof. Very herbal at first - quite a bit of spearmint, orange peel, clove. Brown sugar balances the rye spice.

  • Finish:

Long finish, great complexity between brown sugar, cocoa, honey, clove, pepper and rich herbal spice.
