  • Overall, you have to love habanero to love this, but, if you’ve been hunting for a naturally spicy tequila, this fits the bill.

  • Surprisingly, in spite of the intense heat, the agave flavor comes through loud and clear. And it is a great spirit, full of sweet agave, clean, light and supportive of the habanero.

  • While its tequila cred is, well, impossible to really discern, Fiero is definitely worth a try as a mixer in any cocktail you’d like to turn into a palate-buster — or for use as a dare-based/punishment shot, of course.

  • Nose:

Bright on the nose, sweet cream, a crackle of pepper, some clay and a bit of salinity.

  • Taste:

Sweet on the palate, light at first. Mostly full of cracked pepper, some spice and honey. Not wildly spicy but you can tell the Habanero is there. It’s a natural spiciness which is a relief.

  • Finish:

Long finish, ripping with habanero spice. Mostly spice here, very little agave character. Heavy on habanero and pepper, light minerality and lots of honey.

  • Overall:

Overall, you have to love habanero to love this, but, if you’ve been hunting for a naturally spicy tequila, this fits the bill.
