Produced in Japan, Shibui Grain Select is a blend of a Scottish Lowland single-grain whisky with a Japanese distillate. Matured in American ex-bourbon barrels and European oloroso sherry casks, with a finishing touch in rare Japanese mizunara oak.
Light bodied, floral with lemon and lychee, then greater complexity develops as juicy mandarin, dried apricot, and tropical fruits emerge, while peppercorn mounts a rearguard action leaving a citrus and ground-ginger finish
Bolder and more interesting than the typical entry-level spirit, and definitely worth picking up if you want to get an introduction to what Shibui is all about.
