Headed up by fourth generation maestra mezcalera Isabel Santiago, Zomoz is distilled from a straightforward mix of agave Espadin and pure spring water. Its production notes include all the good stuff; tahona-crushed agave, artesanal methods and open pine vat distillation. We've tried a fair few mezcal Espadins over the years — let's see how this one stacks up against the competition.

Fresh, sweet and lovely, an almost jelly bean fruitiness comes across the nose: peaches and cream. Sweet honey, a faint touch of pear and lavender, sweet and enticing.
Sweet on the palate, this pour has a thin mouthfeel and lots of espadin character. Sweet, a touch of clay, honey, sweet buttercream and that peaches and cream jelly belly sweetness returns once more.
Short, clean finish that’s pleasant and free of plasticity or that weird chemical element some Espadin develop. This is light, fruity, pleasant.
Overall, not bad! It’s not the most expressive Espadin on the market, but not every drink needs to be. It’s easy drinking and a plenty fun Espadin.
