  • Sweet on the palate, though the presence is thin. Cream, some cocoa, hint of caramel and cinnamon. No heat, a hint of lactic sweetness. Still not wildly complex, but there is at least enough going on to feel somewhat satisfied. Probably use this mostly for cocktails, and I think it would do ok there, but dont pick up this bottle thinking it will really wow you.

  • Aromas and flavors of beeswax and green pepper with a slightly chewy, crisp, dryish light body and a tingling, rapid finish with notes of licorice, caramel candies, and straw. A playful Tequila for all manner of mixed drinks.

  • Rich with space and ample agave notes. Wood has mellowed things out a bit, though it’s clearly still hanging on to its agave roots. More of a butterscotch character in the mid-palate here, along with modest wood notes .Good stuff, but not nearly the masterwork that the blanco is.

  • Nose:

Lots going on here - mossy sweetness, cocoa, cream cheese, vanilla bean, honey and melon. Sweet, but inviting.

  • Taste:

Sweet on the palate, though the presence is thin. Cream, some cocoa, hint of caramel and cinnamon. No heat, a hint of lactic sweetness.

  • Finish:

Medium in length, a hair sour. Nice agave character, some pepper.

  • Overall:

Still not wildly complex, but there is at least enough going on to feel somewhat satisfied. Probably use this mostly for cocktails, and I think it would do ok there, but dont pick up this bottle thinking it will really wow you.
