Wicked Dolphin Made us Giggle This April Fools’ With an Outrageous Buffalo Chicken-Flavored Rum and Cocktail Recipe

The folks at Floridian rum distillery, Wicked Dolphin, definitely have a “wicked” sense of humor. On Monday, the brand teased the new “release” of a buffalo chicken-flavored rum on Instagram, complete with a cocktail recipe — for April Fools’ of course.

In a post captioned “hot off the still,” the brand teased a fiery-flavored rum meant to remind drinkers of a buffalo chicken tender sub.

“Our newest creation will leave your mouth watering,” the brand’s Instagram post read. “Crafted by our master distillers, this Buffalo Chicken Rum is finally ready for its debut.”

The brand joked that the team “worked tirelessly” to make crispy chicken tenders, toss them in buffalo sauce and blend them with Wicked Dolphin’s Crystal rum.

Wicked Dolphin additionally shared a joke cocktail called The Buff-tini, featuring the fictional rum, a ranch rim and a pickle garnish.

Wicked Dolphin touts that it makes a true Floridian rum.

The brand is based out of Cape Coral and uses what it claims is the largest American copper pot still in South Florida to make its rums. Wicked Dolphin announced expansion plans in August and that it was bringing on a new master distiller.

Though Wicked Dolphin makes a wide variety of rums ranging from more premium reserve offerings to rumshine, the brand’s core portfolio consists of crystal, gold, spiced and black rums. It also has a flavored range that features coconut, key lime, mango, pineapple, vanilla bean, banana and cold brew coffee.
