A small-batch rye whiskey from 30 barrels, this is the Indiana distillery Hard Truth's High Road Rye. Bottled at 93 proof, this rye has a mashbill of 55% rye, 36% corn and 9% malted barley.

Buttery and sweet on the nose with good cola and pepper, toffee and a hint of ginger.
Sweet and creamy on the palate with a hint of oak and a touch of youth. Pepper, ginger, light cocoa and a hint of astringency on the back palate. It’s pleasant.
Long finish that combines pepper and some oak with a touch of grassy youth.
This rye is so close to being an all-star, with faint youthful characteristics lightly showing up here or there, even if just a glimpse. It’s on the right track and so close to being a great.
