  • Decadent and well layered, this is up there with the best American malts I’ve ever had and goes to show that proof isn’t the only piece of a winning whiskey.

  • Nose:

Sticky pudding, crème brûlée, custard. Rich and elegant on the nose, it’s dessert-forward, layered and rich.

  • Taste:

Complex, with toffee, salted caramel and brioche. I'm amazed how cake-y and rich this malt is, and the brioche note is a definite high point for me. It’s viscous, rich, has a lot more body than I ever expected at this ABV and laces together wild complexity.

  • Finish:

Pudding, cinnamon sugar, nougat, caramel. The finish is every bit as rich as the nose and the palate, with the inclusion of a bit of spice. Lovely, super long finish.

  • Overall:

Decadent and well layered, this is up there with the best American malts I’ve ever had and goes to show that proof isn’t the only piece of a winning whiskey.

  • Score:

    92
