Released in September 2023, Glenmorangie A Tale of Tokyo is a Highland single malt scotch whisky created by Dr. Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie's head of distilling and whisky creation, to capture his experience of Tokyo. This whisky is Glenmorangie's first experiment with rare Japanese mizunara oak. Before being finished in mizunara, A Tale of Tokuo was aged in a mix of sherry and bourbon casks.

Bright and sweet and full of icing and vanilla sweetness. There’s a touch of black tea and light fruit, like pear and apple.
A touch bitter with big sweetness from the casks balancing it out. Toffee, honey, apples and pears meets more black tea, pleasant spice.
Long finish, really distinctive compared to the other Glenmorangies available. The combination of savory and tea notes from the mizunara playing nicely off the sherry cask character really works here. Honey, sweet cream, sandalwood, pineapple and sponge cake character persists through the finish.
Of the recent Glenmorangie’s, this is up there with Tale of Cake for me as far as a whisky that’s unique, full of character and has a profile I just can’t find anywhere else.
