On pain of legal purgatory - Bruichladdich's Port Charlotte MRC:01 bears only the initials of the vineyard whom their spirit has spent time finishing. Port Charlotte is the heavily peated entries in Laddie's portfolio, and this series of wild wine finishes is bottled at cask strength without coloring or filtering.

Raided Score: 90SpiritSurveyor By Lane Southard This was rich and herbal and spicy and gave an interesting aspect to peated whisky beyond just campfire or bbq smoke. Read Full Review Raided Score: 94WhiskyCast By Mark Gillespie The taste is thick, peppery, and intense with a good smokiness and hints of toasted coconut, honey, heather, ginger, and vanilla. The finish is long with a subtle smokiness and lingering spices. Excellent! A whiff of iodine in the finish, with berries, cloves, licorice, and spicy oak. House Review
Nose:
Pungent barbecue, meaty ribs, musty tobacco and bright fruits. Syrupy, stewed fruits. Currant, blackberry, plum.
Taste:
Sweet on the palate. Tons of toffee, ash, charcoal smoke, blackberry and cherry. Medium mouthfeel, a bit of heat.
Finish:
Long finish. A bit of heat, though it’s powerfully jammy and savory.
Overall:
What a rockstar of a bottle. Great synthesis between meaty peat and pungent, rich stewed fruit and wine character
