First released in 2014, this is one of those toasted whiskeys Michter's is so well known for. To make this whiskey, Michte'rs takes barrels of its US*1 rye and moves the whiskey into a second barrel that has been toasted (rather than charred).
Toasted whiskey isn't always my jam, but this year's Toasted Barrel Strength Rye has tons going on, is easy to love and full of complexity not found in previous editions of this bottling.

Nose:
Soft caramel, huge honey notes, confectioners sugar and tons of creamy sweetness.
Taste:
A touch of char and toast. A big ball of sweet honey, confectioners sugar, marshmallow and toffee. Nice cherry and rock candy note with a hint of pepper. Sweeeeeet.
Finish:
Long finish with hefty toasted marshmallow and maple.
