  • Water brings out more of the grain and just a general sweetness with a note of vanilla becoming apparent on the back end.

  • If it could shake that youthful malt note and a touch of bitterness, it could soar.

  • This is a whiskey I can sit, sip, not think about it and be content with what’s in my glass. It’s a perfectly fine whiskey and I’m looking forward to making some cocktails with it and seeing how it does.

  • Nose:

Funky and oily on the nose, there’s oak and honey, wet cardboard, a touch of citrus and some sweet cream.

  • Taste:

Sweet on the palate, lightly lactic and funky, a touch bitter. Apples, pears, honey, caramel and cream.

  • Finish:

Short finish, peppery, lightly bitter, the young wood note and a touch of sweet buttercream persists.

  • Overall:

I have to admit that of the Busker’s, I expected this might reach the highest. That said, it falls somewhat short. If it could shake that youthful malt note and a touch of bitterness, it could soar.
