  • This whisky really seems to capture the character of a place with a reasonable price. Now, all that is left to do is wait for inspiration to strike.

  • Nose:

    Young, funky. Wet cardboard. Caramel.

  • Taste:

Honey, pepper, vanilla. Young, lightly ashy, A bit of heat.

  • Finish:

Short, not super remarkable. Less heat here. Lots of wet cardboard, grain.

  • Overall:

Not a huge fan. Young, a bit too hot, sort of crafty. It's sort of wild how little character Jura 12 has for its age, when the likes of other releases around this age are brimming with complexity. Overall, Jura 12 is an easy skip, although there are older expressions from the distillery that fare much better. If you're looking for an Island expression from Scotland, snag a Talisker or Old Pulteney instead.
