Silverthorn Reserve 10 Year Blender's Art Bourbon Blend (Batch 1) is a blend of straight bourbons from Georgia, Kentucky and Indiana, bottled by Baltimore-based Silverthorn Reserve. Batch 1 combines eight barrels, including a 14 year old four-grain bourbon from Georgia, a 10 year old low-rye bourbon from Kentucky and a 10 year old high-malt bourbon from Indiana. It is non-chill filtered, bottled at 57.5% ABV and sells for around $86.
The palate continues the orchard fruit theme through notes of Dutch apple pie, while over-baked sugar cookies provide a bakery-driven counterpoint. Mid-palate, mild prune juice and ground ginger arrive alongside a notably dense mouthfeel.
