Redwood Empire The Hyperion Batch 001 is a California blend of straight whiskeys from Redwood Empire Whiskey, made by Master Distiller Jeff Duckhorn and Master Blender Lauren Patz. It combines 32% bourbon, 30% rye, 25% wheat whiskey and 13% single malt, drawn from about 79 barrels and more than 10 mash bills. The component whiskeys are 7 to 14 years old, and it is bottled unfiltered at 55% ABV and sells for around $99.

  • The palate finds many of the same elements but ups the ante further. Sweet and buttery, it drinks like well-slathered cinnamon toast, almost syrupy in texture at times.
