Compass Box Affinity is a blend of Scotch whisky and Calvados released in 2019 as a limited edition of 6,028 bottles. About 37.5% of the blend is Calvados from Domaine Christian Drouin, mixed with Highland malts (Clynelish, Dailuaine, Teaninich), a Craigellachie single malt and a blended Scotch. It is bottled at 46% ABV without chill-filtration or added color and sells for around $150.

  • The silky palate seems to eye caramel apple or spiced cider, mixing baked apple, vanilla, oak and a resin note midpalate.

  • Baffling and surprising, a cocktail in a bottle. Overwhelming apple notes, with ample baking spice. Lots of layers here.
