Serena Mode 0.0 Rosé is a dealcoholized Cinsault rosé made by Miguel Torres Chile in the Itata Valley. The wine is fermented for 16 days at controlled temperatures without wood aging, then undergoes a dealcoholization process to reach 0.0% ABV. It retails for around $15 and is imported in the US by Vineyard Brands.
This moderately pink rose is a bit beefy on the nose, reminding me perhaps of carmenere or syrah over cinsault, the meaty character fading into a sort of smokiness with time in glass.
