The GlenDronach Allardice 18 Year is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky produced at The GlenDronach Distillery in Forgue, Aberdeenshire. Named for founder James Allardice, who established the distillery in 1826, it is made from 100% malted barley and matured exclusively in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. Bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration or added color, it typically retails for around $230 to $290 in the U.S. market.
The palate quickly pours on sweeter elements: Molasses, brown butter, warm Coca-Cola, plenty of spice notes. Rich and enveloping on the tongue, the whisky evokes austerity and intrigue: Turkish rug shops, old London barrooms, Asian spice markets.
